Collaboration is the most efficient way of moving science forward. That is why our research group initiated a network inviting all researchers interested in physical activity investigations at Lund University. Since 2022, we coordinate CoPARLU, a new center of physical activity research at Lund University.

Having a physically active lifestyle has been associated with a broad range of health benefits. Since 2020, the Swedish government has been making special efforts to increase physical activity in society to prevent lifestyle-related diseases and promote public health.

CoPARLU is a multidisciplinary center gathering all researchers with expertise in physical activity at Lund University. The research ranges from molecular experiments and clinical trials to investigations of psychological, gender, and sustainability aspects of lifestyle physical activity. By collaborating across disciplines, we hope to get a deepened knowledge about the effects of physical activity and a larger perspective on how we can use physical activity in a cost-effective and sustainable way.

The included research groups contribute with expertise from several faculties of Lund University.
